No Second Chance School Presentation – Coombabah State High School QLD

Students at Coombabah State High School started their day on Wednesday with a confronting reminder that our lives are the result of the decisions we make. Also in attendance were special guests from the Australian Football League and the Queensland Police.

It’s a difficult presentation for No Second Chance presenters Paul Stanley and Matt Speakman as they have to relive their tragedies and discuss very personal details. But we believe that by sharing their personal experiences with the students we can demonstrate how the decisions people make on a daily basis can have a huge impact on the lives we live.

Matt’s presentation was briefly interrupted by a possum dropping from the ceiling… “Everyone was quiet and listening to my story so the crash of a possum dropping from the ceiling was actually quite startling,’ said Matt. But rather than make a fuss I just continued on with the presentation. It actually made the point that sometimes in life things don’t go exactly as you plan but you just need to get on with it.”

No Second Chance is beginning to generate allot of interest from the public and has recently caught the attention of Kay McGrath who was on hand to speak to us along with some of the students for a special on her new ‘Making a Difference’ Program on Channel 7.

We really enjoyed our visit to Coombabah State High School and hope that our message makes the students think twice before doing something stupid. We would also like to thank the staff at Coombabah State High School for inviting us and making us feel so welcome..!!

Our next presentation is at Berwick College in Victoria which coincides with testing at Phillip Island for Round 3 of the Australian Carrera Cup Championship where Warren Luff will be working hard to maintain his lead in the Championship.
