The N2C Kart team has walked away empty handed from Round 4 of the Australian Rotax Pro Tour in Newcastle.

Jaxon Evans had an up-and-down weekend. He started well, posting the second fastest time during practice. He then qualified 7th in the 44 strong field taking two 4ths and a 2nd in the heat races.

Points from the heats put Jaxon 6th on the grid for the prefinal. After a tough battle to 3rd place he was involved in a crash damaging the kart and the best he could do was limp home in 14th position.

The final ended much the same as the damage caused in the prefinal meant Jaxon struggled for grip finishing 13th.

“We straightened the kart the best we could”, said Jaxon. “But the damage from the prefinal meant the chassis was bent and the kart wasn’t competitive. I would like to thank No Second Chance, Birel Kartsport Australia, Matthew Stanley Foundation and Lucky Bling for their support. Special thanks to my Dad and my Engineer Scotty Auld for all their hard work leading up to and during the meeting”.

Hunter McElrea had an even more challenging weekend with DNFs in heats 1 and 2 after qualifying 14th. Heat 3 ended better with a 14th place finish.

Having no points going into the prefinal put Hunter 25th on the grid and after a minor crash of the start bent a steering arm he struggled home in 23rd.

The final ended better with Hunter finishing in 15th place.

“I learnt allot this weekend”, said Hunter. “I’m allot smaller than some of the other guys and I was getting pushed around a fair bit, I learned I need to stick up for myself and drive more aggressively, being involved with such a great team helps as I get lots of really good advice. I would like to thank No Second Chance, Objective, Mittcomm, Matthew Stanley Foundation, all my supporters club, Doric, Birel Kartsport, Dad and Scotty”.

The next round of the Pro Tour is in Geelong on the 25th of May.
