No Second Chance School Presentation – Coombabah State High School QLD
Students at Coombabah State High School started their day on Wednesday with a confronting reminder that our lives are the result of the decisions we make. Also in attendance were special guests from the Australian Football League and the Queensland Police.
It’s a difficult presentation for No Second Chance presenters Paul Stanley and Matt Speakman as they have to relive their tragedies and discuss very personal details. But we believe that by sharing their personal experiences with the students we can demonstrate how the decisions people make on a daily basis can have a huge impact on the lives we live.
Matt’s presentation was briefly interrupted by a possum dropping from the ceiling… “Everyone was quiet and listening to my story so the crash of a possum dropping from the ceiling was actually quite startling,’ said Matt. But rather than make a fuss I just continued on with the presentation. It actually made the point that sometimes in life things don’t go exactly as you plan but you just need to get on with it.”
Matt Speakman relives his horror accident for the benefit of the students at Coombabah.
