No Second Chance was very lucky to be offered the opportunity to do a presentation at “The Southport Sharks” at the Gold Coast in front of our biggest crowd yet.
In attendance were the Southport Sharks JAFC, Labrador Tigers JAFC, Surfers Paradise JAFC, Coomera Magpies JAFC, Ormeau Bulldogs JAFC, Tweed Coolangatta JAFC, Carrara Saints JAFC.
With a turn-out of around 500 kids it was a great opportunity to share the message of the N2C program and the stories of our three presenters.
The response from the audience was fantastic and we were met with many questions. Many from parents concerned about protecting their children. “We can’t wrap our kids up in cotton wool”, said Paul Stanley. “All we can do is show young people, like we have done today, that life is the result of our actions and that in many cases, like in the case of my son Matthew, there is No Second Chance”.
We were also very lucky to be endorsed by some local footy stars Zac Smith & Seb Tape from the Gold Coast Suns who spoke briefly about the importance of staying focused on your goals.
Special thanks to Dean Vigus, AFL Juniors Club Co-ordinator for the Gold Coast Northern region for helping us to organise the event.
We would sincerely like to thank everyone that was there for being part of N2C and hope you took something away with you from our presentation.
